Sid’s Place Toowoomba
Simon Pty Ltd
Cypress Machine Shed
Special formulated Table Lubricant overcomes Cypress feeding issues.
It has been a long held belief that success in feeding Cypress was a moulding machine with driven bed rollers. But even this didn’t guarantee continuous feeding of both green and dry cypress.
Simon Pty Ltd now known as Sid’s Place Toowoomba , have run this native timber for well over 50 years. They have run everything from T&G flooring, chamfer and decking, to their current production of structural products for retail and high volume runs to support their two premium cypress truss and wall frame operations. Sid’s Place Toowoomba is one of the Darling Downs largest manufacture of cypress prefab roof trusses and wall frames, using only stress tested Simon Cypress.
Danny Atwell has been at Sid’s Place Toowoomba for almost 25 years and has produced the moulding requirements for this family owned company during this period.
Danny reports:
“We ran everything through a Weinig Hydromat 22B up until a fire in the drymill a couple of years ago.. Since then we purchased two other Weinig moulders with all the technology supplied.
Andrew Honeyman from Accurate Timber Products began calling on us a few years ago, and it was during one of these visits he mentioned a table lubricant he was testing. It was formulated product which wouldn’t soak into the timber but allow the table plates to reduce friction and reduce gum build-up. It was a clear solution which didn’t cover the machine in an unsightly coating of oils and wouldn’t be detrimental to any parts on the new generation moulders we purchased.
We have a Automatic Table Lube pump on our production moulder – Weinig Unimat 23E and a manual pump on our Profimat 26S which we use for all our orders.
The Accurate Timber Product table lubricant has outperformed all other lubricant mixes we have used in the past.
Our productivity figures indicate the table lubricant certainly contributes to the output we achieve through both our moulding lines. The Unimat rarely slows below 36 metres per minute for its complete working shift 5 days a week. We also produce wide boards up to 260mm wide on the Profimat which feeds timber effortlessly with the table lubricant.”
Accurate Timber Products specializes on supplying products to compliment all new generation machinery. Please see our Lubricants product range for more information.
