Grinding Wheels

Accurate Australia have tested dozens of Grinding Wheels over the past years, and are able to provide a selecton of Grinding Wheels suitable to the Wood Machining Industry.

There are 3 different Wheel varieties pending knife steel composition to choose from; Aluminium Oxide, CBN, and Diamond. Each type is suitable to different applications, and will influence wheel life, product finish, and wheel shape.

Each type has a Classic and Platinum Range for you to choose from.

Aluminium Oxide

Classic Range

Aluminium Oxide Grinding Wheels are a giant step above the conventional, hard, slow cutting wheels which tend to burn tools as the grinding surface becomes dull and glazed. Made of granulated aluminium oxide with a vitrified white bond, they allow the grains of abrasive to wear off, thus providing a consistently fresh grinding surface.

Aluminium Oxide

Platinum Range

Ceramic grit wheels are a mixture of aluminium oxide and ceramic grit. Usually, the percentage of ceramic grit will be in the 10-30% range. These wheels are recommended for all high speed steels and some tool steels where long life, cool grind and aggressive stock removal are important factors over the cost of the wheel itself.

CBN

Classic Range

CBN, also known as Borazon, are very tough wheels and are normally run wet. Primarily used in toolroom applications for grinding and sharpening cutting tools such as planer and moulding knives etc.

CBN

Platinum Range

The concentration, in layman's terms, is the actual amount of CBN in the bond. In the Platinum Range a concentration of 100 is preferred and the price of the wheel will be correspondingly higher as the higher the concentration, the more CBN the wheel contains.

Diamond

Classic Range

Diamond wheels are very tough wheels and can be run wet or dry. Primarily used in toolroom applications for grinding and sharpening Tungsten Carbide cutting tools such as planer and moulding knives etc.

Diamond

Platinum Range

The concentration, in layman's terms, is the actual amount of CBN in the bond. In the Platinum Range a concentration of 100 is preferred and the price of the wheel will be correspondingly higher as the higher the concentration, the more CBN the wheel contains.
