Craig learned the tools of his trade in the DEVETIR tool room, becoming a trade qualified wood machinist in furniture and joinery, and later moving into moulding applications. Over the years Craig transitioned to a Technical Sales Rep role focusing on Leuco products and later represented Homag Group and other manufacturers in the flat panel industry.
In 1994, Craig started work with Weinig Australia, a leading manufacturer of machines and systems for the solid wood processing industry. After several years supplying and installing Weinig moulders, grinders, finger jointers and docking saws, Craig became increasingly frustrated when these machines couldn’t reach their full potential due to the support tooling available in the Australian market. After speaking with a number of engineers in the Weinig factory in Germany, Craig began work with European manufacturers to supply high quality support tooling to complement the Weinig machinery. And so Accurate Australia was born, opening its’ doors in 2001.
In the early years, Accurate operated in the local Queensland market, however it soon became apparent there was a strong need for a national specialist in timber support tooling.Craig’s vision to help timber manufacturers across Australia work smarter and achieve more through progressive change and innovation have led Accurate to where we are today –the industry leader in timber support tooling with a sales and support presence spanning the country.
It’s now been more than 21 years since Craig first shook hands with those European suppliers. Over the years the quality of Accurate’s products and the unstoppable spirit of our founder Craig and his passionate team have allowed Accurate to continually set new standards. Our accelerated growth has also seen Accurate diversify into newmarkets within the timber industry.
By any measure, Accurate have come a long way. But we really haven’t changed. We are still a privately owned company offering the warm, friendly welcome of a family business, but with all the passion, enthusiasm and drive of national leading supplier. And Craig is still doing what he loves best – partnering with solid timber manufacturers to help them create the perfect result between the machine and the finished timber product.
It’s not just our superior range of timber products that defines the Accurate brand. It’s our people and the knowledgeable service they provide to our customers that truly makes us an industry leader.Get to know all of the talented team from the Accurate Family:
