Earlier this year in July, over a delicious pasta following a long day at AWISA along Sydney’s Darling Harbour, Ironwood’s Chris ‘Swado’ Swadling and Glen ‘Chapo’ Chapman challenged Accurate’s Craig Honeyman and Fraser Killen to a friendly tennis match.
Fast forward to Friday November 30th, on a balmy afternoon at Wantima Country Club in Brisbane’s leafy northern suburbs, the lads gathered in their finest attire for THE INAUGURAL IRONWOOD V ACCURATE XMAS TENNIS MATCH!
Team Ironwood were the favourites going into the match ($1.25) opening very strongly and winning the first two games. Their training regimen did fall short with Team Accurate ($2.50) coming back strong to win the next four games and be crowned the inaugural champions with their 6-2 win.
Final teams: Ironwood: Chris Swadling, Glen Chapman; Accurate: Craig Honeyman, Fraser Killen
Official crowd: 6 @ Wantima Country Club, Brendale, QLD
