This title goes to the geodesic Superior Dome in Marquette, Michigan. Constructed in 1991 from 781 Douglas Fir beams, it stands at 14 stories high and, with a diameter of 163 metres, covers a massive 20,619 square metres under its roof. Its wooden construction is robust enough to cope with 128 kilometre per hour winds and 292 kilograms per square metre of snow.
